Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) is proud to announce that Jamaican roots reggae sensation Luciano will be the headline act on the main stage in Nelson’s Dockyard on Tuesday 26th April. The Johnnie Walker Your World & Mine Concert will also feature home grown Antiguan talent: Soca Diva Claudette Peters and R&B and soca star Tian Winter with Cheeze Kake Factory and M & M Music. The event is the big night that will form part of the week-long party atmosphere of Antigua Sailing Week.

VIP tickets are available with access to an exclusive area at the Copper & Lumber Store. The famous bar and restaurant in Nelson’s Dockyard will have a private viewing area for the concert with catering from the restaurant. The VIP Bar will be pouring Johnnie Walker Red, Black, Double Black, Gold and Platinum with a feature toast of Johnnie Walker Blue Label. A limited number of VIP tickets are available for the all-inclusive Restaurant and Bar service.

The Presidente Beer Garden, located on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club, will have a daily prize giving ceremony on race days and will be open daily from 22nd April, except Lay Day. It is the chill out zone for race crews after a day of competition on the water and provides an opportunity to meet up over a cold Presidente Beer.
Round Antigua Race Prize Giving & Welcome Party, will be held on 23rd April: The first major party of Antigua Sailing Week celebrates the winners of the Round Antigua Race, as well as welcoming everyone to Antigua Sailing Week 2016. Listen out for the Iron Band starting out from Antigua Yacht Club at 6:00 pm and leading the crowd into Nelson’s Dockyard. The prize giving will be held at 7:00 pm followed by DJ Nez & Live Music from top Antiguan cover band 1761˚.
The first day of Antigua Sailing Week’s five days of racing is 24th April: If you want the best view of the action, head to the Shirley Heights Lookout Breakfast. High above the Pillars of Hercules with a spectacular view of the first day’s racing, Shirley Heights Lookout will host its famous Antigua Sailing Week breakfast from 8:00 am. An excellent local breakfast along with bush tea is available and once the races begin at 10:00 am you will be at one of the best locations on the south coast from which to view the excitement at the start lines.

English Harbour Rum Festival: Taking place following the English Harbour Rum Race Day 1 Daily Prize Giving, the English Harbour Rum Festival includes self-styled Swunk band (Swing Jazz-Funk) The Sound Citizens and DJ Where and includes an English Harbour Rum Cocktail competition open to all, with the best bartender winning a cask of rum and other goodies. Johnnie Walker Reggae Vibes Party: From 6pm on Monday 25th April following the Johnnie Walker Race Day 2 Daily Prize Giving, Zambai & Friends and DJ Kuma will be spreading reggae vibes on the lawn at Antigua Yacht Club. It will be a laid back night and a great warm up for the big concert to follow the next day.
Presidente Lay Day Beach Party & Nonsuch Bay RS Elite Challenge, 27th April from Midday: Pigeon Point offers the perfect Caribbean beach chill-out mid-week of the regatta and an opportunity to unwind after the Johnnie Walker Your World & Mine Concert. The grills will be fired up from 12:00 noon with Nonsuch Bay Resort’s award winning chef Mitchell Husbands serving up outstanding fare along with a whole host of other food vendors. The Nonsuch Bay RS Elite Challenge takes place just off Pigeon Beach with eight top teams vying for the ultimate prize of a one week’s bed and breakfast accommodation for two at Nonsuch Bay Resort, and of course major bragging rights!
Beach games with NMI Promotions, great music from DJ’s Stiffler and Irish, and later DJ Woodenfoot, will take this beach party into the night. Head down with friends, dinghy in, raft up, take the beach shuttle or walk. Pigeon Point is a short walk from Falmouth Harbour and Nelson’s Dockyard.
The famous Antigua Sailing Week Final Awards Ceremony & After Party, 29th April, starting at 6 pm. The Awards Ceremony, which will get underway at 7:00 pm, has been held in historic Nelson’s Dockyard for almost 50 years and will be followed by the after party. DJ Tanny will be spinning the tunes with Asher Otto & Itchy Feet playing a live set to bring the Awards Ceremony to a spectacular close.
Dockyard Day
The final lime is the traditional family fun day from 2pm to 10pm with parades, bouncy castles, family fun and games in the Dockyard and excellent local food on sale. The LIAT Schools Art Competition Prize Giving plays an important part of the day with the Beating of the Retreat bringing to a close an incredible week.
Throughout the week the whole English Harbour area will be literally buzzing with local food vendors offering sizzling meat and seafood on the grill, Seafood Thursday will take place in Nelson’s Dockyard on 28th April, and more than 25 bars and restaurants throughout the area will be offering everything from local to international cuisine so you certainly won’t go hungry!
Shuttles will run between marinas every day and party shuttles will be in place for the big events along with restricted parking.
