The Notice of Race for the 2025 edition of the Peters & May Round Antigua Race (RAR) is now available. The race on April 26th, 2025 is independently scored and a prelude to Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) which runs April 27 – May 2, 2025.
This iconic circumnavigation of Antigua attracts some of the most competitive vessels making it one of the more enviable & thrilling one-day races. This event kicks off the exciting ASW that also attracts top competitors from around the world.
The Peters & May Round Antigua Race offers sailors the ultimate challenge: a full tour of the stunning island of Antigua. Known for its unpredictable winds, challenging currents, and breathtaking coastal scenery, this race provides an unparalleled experience for racers of all levels. The event will feature various classes, including monohulls, multihulls, and superyachts, welcoming both seasoned sailors and new competitors to this legendary course.
Participants complete the course around Antigua by starting at 8am off Fort Charlotte racing east towards Half Moon Bay, past Green Island, around to Dickenson Bay, past St. Johns & Five Islands Harbours, along the coast featuring the white sands of Jolly Beach & Darkwood, passing the outer Cades Reef to Curtain Bluff, and then back to the finish line outside of English Harbour.
The race also serves as a preview of the conditions and intense competition that define ASW. The fleet will battle for elapsed-time, line honors and coveted trophies, navigating a course that has become a favorite for sailors worldwide. The race is also an end of season highlight for some yachts that are unable, due to scheduling conflict, to be a part of the full ASW fleet yet still want to be a part of the excitement of the Peters & May RAR prizegiving and the Official opening ceremony of the week long event.
