Antigua Sailing Week (ASW) is delighted to announce the return of Virgin Atlantic as the Transatlantic Airline sponsor of the 2022 event.
The return to travel after the lengthy hiatus has presented a renewed interest in Caribbean destinations for sport tourism and leisure. For Virgin Atlantic, the move to support ASW, endorses its desire to support safe, hassle-free movement between its destinations for participation in these activities.
Virgin Atlantic’s weekly schedule features flights from Heathrow into and out of VC Bird International Airport Antigua on Tuesdays, Thursday and Saturdays. This means there are perfectly timed flights for participants who want to race in the optional Peters & May Round Antigua Race on Saturday 30th April, and for all sailors who plan to race in Antigua Sailing Week starting on Sunday 1st May. Spectators planning to travel to Antigua for the week long celebration of yacht racing will find that the schedule fits nicely as they can arrive on Saturday in time for the opening festivities and leave a week later, also on Saturday, after the final prize giving on Friday 6th May.
Virgin Atlantic Country Manager – Caribbean, Hannah Swift, says: “I’m thrilled to be partnering with such a prestigious event and to be able to support the participants and their families with accessible fares. Antigua Sailing Week is a world renowned event which highlights the beauty of Antigua on land and on water.”
Any of the ASW participants, family or friends wishing to travel to the event, must email caribcorporates@fly.virgin.com with their needs to take advantage of the event specific offers which include;
