TRAVEL ADVISORY HIGHLIGHTS (Latest Advisory 17th September, 2021 for implementation from 1st October, 2021) 1. Fully vaccinated passengers entering Antigua and Barbuda who can present verifiable documentation that they have received both doses of a World Health Organization (WHO) or Ministry of Health Wellness and the Environment (MOHWE) approved 2-dose COVID 19 vaccine or one dose of a single dose COVID 19 vaccine and have a COVID-19 RT-PCR negative test result within 4 days of travel will be allowed to stay at bio safe/certified accommodation. At least two (2) weeks must have passed since the administration of the FULL vaccine dosage. Partially vaccinated visitors will be allowed to stay at a COVID-19 Certified Accommodation/Lodging. 2. Passengers who arrive without COVID 19 test results or with incorrect COVID test results will be charged the cost of administering of the required RT PCR test assay. The fee is US$50.00 for nationals and US$100.00 for non-nationals. Passengers who knowingly present false declarations of COVID19 negative tests or vaccination on arrival will be fined according to the laws of Antigua and Barbuda. 3. Visitors are required to observe all protocols during their stay and patronize only COVID-19 certified businesses such as restaurants and excursions for the duration of their trip. TESTING A negative Real Time PCR test is required for all people arriving by sea or air with 4 days of travel date. Once in Antigua, if you require testing for onward or return travel can book through a number of different testing facilities. An updated list can be found here: link. |
PROTOCOLS Mask Wearing: Mandatory - can be removed to eat or drink Social Distancing: 6 ft Gathering Size: no more than 10 Hygiene: Request to wash hands or use sanitiser at stations outside all public places, bars, restaurants and shops. |
EVENT SPECIFIC If the same restrictions are in place when ASW begins the following will take place: •Racing will continue as usual with protocols in place for committee boats. •Groups who charter together may stay on board together •Before and after racing sailors must adhere to protocols while on shore •Registration will be online along with payment •No skippers bags will be provided but relevant race documentation will be provided for those who need it as well as digitally •Prize givings will be electronic but prizes will be delivered to boats by the SWAT team •Limited entertainment to be provided at marinas •No access to the marinas by the general public •Bookings for crew dinners or pre-orders of meals to be delivered to yachts will be available. |
CERTIFIED TOURISM ACCOMMODATION All visitor accommodations operating in Antigua and Barbuda are required to be inspected by the Ministry of Tourism’s Quality Assurance Unit to ensure they are adhering to the Covid-19 protocols prior to re-opening. Visitors travelling to Antigua and Barbuda and requiring tourism accommodation, are advised to book with certified properties only.
