Classes and Class Flags
A list of classes and scratch sheets will be available online and at the Committee Desk by no later than 5 pm on Saturday, April 28. If you are not provided with your class flag at Registration, please return to the Committee Desk between 3 pm and 6 pm on Saturday, April 28 to collect your flag.
Bow Numbers
If you do not have sail numbers you will be provided with bow numbers which must be applied to the forward section of the hull on each side of the boat. Application instructions will be included with the bow numbers, which please follow carefully.
Note: The bow numbers are still in transit. You will be emailed when they are available for pick-up.
Safety
Antigua and Barbuda Search and Rescue (ABSAR) will once again be on the water during racing throughout Antigua Sailing Week to assist with emergencies and to help keep everyone safe. The shoreside team will provide 24-hour service with the Emergency Response Vehicle at the Medic Station at Antigua Yacht Club Marina Resort. For emergency assistance, ABSAR can be contacted 24-hours a day on VHF Channel 16 or at (268) 562-1234. ABSAR is a non-profit, volunteer run charity. Anyone wishing to make a donation is asked to contact ABSAR.
Royal Southern Yacht Club Inter-Yacht Club Challenge
All boats with at least 50% of its crew being members of the same yacht club can enter the Challenge under that yacht club’s name. There is no entry fee so everyone is encouraged to enter if they qualify. Boats entered in different classes will be scored using a weighted scoring method and the Royal Southern’s Shield Trophy will be awarded to the overall winner. To enter, please advise the Committee Desk or contact lorna@saililngweek.com. Boats racing in the Club Class are not eligible to enter the Challenge. Daily Prize Givings
Casual daily prize givings will be held each day from Sunday, April 29 through Tuesday, May 1 at 5 pm on stage at Antigua Yacht Club. On Thursday, May 3 it will be held in Nelson’s Dockyard at 5 pm and on Friday, May 4 it will be held in Nelson’s Dockyard at 4 pm. Come on down to the Wadadli Beer Garden at Antigua Yacht Club or Nelson’s Dockyard from 3 to 6 pm for some great food, ice cold Wadadli Beer and to share some stories with the competition. In your skippers bags you will be given one bag of ASW gold which is one coin per crew member to redeem for a cold beer at the bar on the Yacht club lawn up to the 30th April.
The daily prize givings are designed to recognize daily winners for their overall achievement on that day. Winning pennants will be given to the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each class and a variety of prizes will be awarded. If results of any class are subject to protest at the time of the daily prize giving, the winners of that class will be recognized at the following day’s prize giving.
Media
Several members of the media will be looking to catch a ride on racing boats throughout the week. If you are willing to take a member of the media on your boat, please advise the Committee Desk. You will be contacted should we assign a media person to you. Also, our video team would appreciate receiving footage from boats with GoPro cameras on board in order to share the onboard racing perspective. If you would like to share your footage, please advise the Committee Desk and the information will be passed on to the video team.

Reggae in the Park Concert with Tarrus Riley – Tuesday, May 1
The Reggae in the Park Concert will be held in Nelson’s Dockyard on Tuesday, May 1 and will feature Tarrus Riley live in concert! Other performers will include DJ’s Private Ryan and Puffy and local bands Spirited and the Strays – you won’t want to miss this party. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office in the Antigua Yacht Club car park or downloaded from the TickeTing app in advance for US $45/EC $120 and US $50 /EC $135 at the door. There are also tickets for the INET lookout Experience which gives you access to premium cash bars and food and a raised platform from which to watch the event as well as side of stage access.
A Park & Ride service will be operated from the Falmouth Harbour Rectory & the Marsh Village Football Ground for anyone staying outside of the immediate area and planning to drive to the event. The cost is EC$5 per person.
Lay Day
Lay Day festivities will once again be held at Pigeon Beach in Falmouth Harbour beginning at 11 Noon on Wednesday, May 2. The day’s activities will include team racing on RS Fevas run by the National Sailing Academy – teams can enter by emailing info@nationalsailingacademy.org. Head down to Pigeon Beach, enjoy the barbecues, cold Wadadli beers and fantastic action on the water. All kinds of exciting fun and games will be happening from 3 pm including stand up paddle board racing and tug-o-war, bikini and sexy 6 pack competitions and much more. Stay on into the evening for the Sunset Beach Party – an event you don’t want to miss with 7 of the best DJ’s in Antigua.
Final Awards Presentation
The final awards presentation will be held on Friday, May 4 at 7 pm on the stage behind the Copper and Lumber Store Hotel in the Nelson’s Dockyard. Entry is free and everyone is welcome. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the awards presentation and during the party afterwards.
Please help us keep the prize giving moving along quickly by going to the pre-stage area on the water side of the stage prior to your team being called to the stage. Following receipt of your awards, please exit the stage on the opposite side where photographs of your team and awards will be taken by Antigua Sailing Week’s official photographer.
If you have won a perpetual trophy, you will be required to return the trophy immediately after your photographs have been taken. It will be returned to the Dockyard Museum for safe keeping and you will have a pewter tankard and/or a keeper trophy by which to remember your win.

Dockyard Day & Dickenson Bay Beach Bash
For those of you who are staying on for the Antigua to Bermuda Race or just for a long weekend after racing we have an action-packed weekend. Dockyard Day is a family fun day in Nelsons Dockyard starting at 2pm. Fun and games and a family atmosphere are topped off by the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda Beating the Retreat to officially close Antigua Sailing Week. Sunday 6th May we then move to Dickenson Bay for the Beach Bash. Bring your boat around or taxi or drive over for a fun-filled afternoon of drinks, food, music and games. The party runs into the evening with live music on the Tony’s Beach Bar Stage and Ana’s Beach Bar as well as Coconut Grove. A real Caribbean Finale to a wonderful week.
The Green Team
Antigua Sailing Week and sponsor Eco Island Packaging have joined forces with Sailors for the Sea and Zero Waste Antigua and Barbuda to have a clean regatta. We are asking all participants to help us meet our goals and pledge to reduce plastic water bottle consumption, separate your garbage and recycle as much as possible and avoid cleaning the bottom of your boat inside the harbour. We recommend you carry a refillable water bottle and fill up at our pure water fill-up station at Antigua Yacht Club. We will also provide recycling bags every afternoon for your aluminium and plastics 1, 2 + 4 which will be picked up daily along with garbage. When shopping please use re-usable and recyclable bags. Plastic shopping bags have been banned in Antigua.

The ASW Cup
We have produced a cup for ASW this year which you will receive when served at official venues. We encourage you to reuse the cup each time you go to the bar. We are determined to reduce the amount of plastics going to our landfill and with your help and support, we can do this.
